The Underground Railroad at the Murphy's Orchards: a historical place where black slaves would get help to escape to Canada and would finally become free.
It all started in the 19th century, and more particularly in 1850. Slaves would travel by water, some died of starvation, some of pneumonia, some died because they couldn't swim but many others survived. About 100,000 slaves escaped oppression thanks to the underground railroad.
It all started there, a farm built in 1850. A place where plenty of fruits grew: Murphy Orchards.
Future farmers ...?? :-)
Back to school after a very interesting day, still chilly but sunny!!!!!! :-)
